Kärcher has completely revised its range of pressure washers for home and garden use. The new X Series have a certificate from the eminent Fraunhofer Institute confirming their cleaning efficiency. Kärcher’s well-engineered pump and motor technology in combination with modern nozzle contours ensures the best possible cleaning result in a short time. That saves both energy and water, thereby reducing the environmental impact of using the machine by up to 50% compared with other manufacturers’ machines.

One of the key criteria when buying a pressure washer – presupposing that it delivers excellent cleaning results – is that it should be easy and convenient to handle. So in its new X Series models of pressure washers, Kärcher has attached importance to incorporating many labour-saving features.

The K 3.700 and K 5.700 have an integrated cable reel for the high-pressure hose, which are 6 metre and 9 metre long respectively. After cleaning, the hose is simply wound onto the sturdy plastic reel.

All X Series models have a quick connect release on both ends of the high-pressure hose so that it fits easily onto both the trigger gun and pressure washer. The connectors at both ends are identical to rule out any confusion.

Even with a pressure washer you some¬times have to use detergent, such as to wash the car or remove grimed-in dirt from terraces and garden furniture. Kärcher has now develop¬ed a very easy-to-use system for its new X Series pressure washers. With the Plug ’n’ Clean system there is no tank to fill with detergent. The bottle containing the desired cleaning agent (car shampoo, universal, wood, or stone and facade cleaner) is simply plugged upside down into the specially designed bracket. A membrane on the bottle opening prevents spillage or leaks. If you need to switch to a different cleaning agent, you simply change the bottle. The advantage of this is that it eliminates the need for a container that has to be rinsed out between applications in order to remove any residues.

The electric motors of Kärcher’s new K 3.550, K 3.700 and K 5.700 pressure washers are cooled by water instead of air. The water they use for cleaning is not channelled directly to the high-pressure pump, but first via an intake pipe in coils around the entire assembly. This constant cooling increases the life of the motor. A further advantage is weight. Water is a very efficient coolant, so the motor can be made more compact – with the result that it is around 14% lighter than conventional pressure washers. What is more, since there is no longer any need to drive a fan wheel, the pressure washer consumes less energy.
