Agriculture/Forestry is an industrial sector that brings South Africa a large amount of foreign trade each year. The export of agriculture/forestry comes from diverse sources, such as maize and grain production, poultry and other meat products, and wood pulp for paper production from the huge pine plantations run by Sappi and Mondi. What all of these products have in common is that they are the result of an industrial process and that their export is governed by strict standards set in place to ensure that products are uncontaminated when they leave South African ports.

One of the standards that must be adhered to is that governing contamination
and hygiene. For this reason the exporters of these valuable commodities must
ensure that every precaution is taken to prevent foreign matter from
contaminating the goods while they are in transit. The importance of clean and
hygienic transportation cannot be overemphasised. The global competitive
environment is such that a single mistake and the delivery of contaminated
goods can mean the loss of a contract.

The agriculture/forestry sector implements a variety of protocols to ensure that goods are free from contamination. One of the most important foundations of these protocols is the use of highly advanced cleaning equipment, including high pressure cleaners that are able to remove even the most stubborn contaminants from any transport, including commercial vehicles and rail cars.

The industrial cleaning solutions, such as those that are supplied by global
manufacturer, Kärcher ensure that the economic wellbeing of South Africa is not
threatened by unacceptable levels of contamination. The need for these cleaning
solutions to be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year
means that they must be built to the most exacting standards.

Cleaning in agriculture/forestry:

There are many types of machines that are used in agriculture/forestry that need to be well maintained to ensure that they are functioning optimally. Any debris or dirt caught in the mechanisms of the equipment can cause wear and tear that will lead to the tools breaking or malfunctioning. A malfunction in a power tool or other heavy equipment can result in sever safety hazards for the operator of the machinery. Every piece of equipment from large vehicles to the smaller tools will have its own unique cleaning requirements.

Probably the best way to take care of all the cleaning requirements for the tools and equipment used in forestry/agriculture is to use a high pressure washer. Water at high pressure can blast away most dirt and debris and get into hard to reach places that other cleaning methods can miss. Hot water pressure washers are ideal to deal with grease or oil that needs to be removed.

The pressure washers often do not require any detergents or chemicals and are available in mobile units that can be wheeled around to any area where they are required.

Once the equipment has been cleaned it is important to let it dry properly before storage or use. Any metal components can succumb to rust should the equipment not be properly dried. The moving parts of the tools and equipment should be well oiled after drying to further prevent rust as well as ensure the smooth operation of the machinery.
