The steamer or steam cleaner, to use its full title, has become increasingly invaluable to a wide range of domestic, professional and industrial cleaning applications. When compared with the conventional cleaning method of cloth, water and some detergent, a steamer provides greater penetration and superior grease cutting without the need for expensive consumables and potentially toxic chemical agents. In both situations, the use of a steamer means rapid drying of cleaned areas and no lingering chemical smells to contaminate the environment. At home, a steamer may resemble a vacuum cleaner in appearance, but has a totally different function.
